Top 5: Bodybuilding Myths Debunked

So being an amatuer bodybuilder, i wanted to talk about a couple of bodybuilding myths that really piss me off. When i hear these myths, even though people are just playing around, they just really aggravate me to death. So without further waiting here are my top 5 most hated bodybuilding myths, and why they're all false.

#5) Women that work out will end up looking like this no matter what

Now this is false for 2 reason. 1) Women that lift weights CAN NOT possibly get this big naturally, because women do not have enough the one fundamental hormone in this process, which is testosterone, and 2) Women only have a little naturally produced testosterone in their body. If you're a woman, and look like this, you're taking steriods......FACT!

#4) All bodybuilders are "meatheads" and have no intelligence
The reason this is false is because of recent technology, and the advancements in science and medicine. In order to unlock your bodies full potential you have to know everything there is to know about food, timing of supplements, and your overall body to really set yourself apart from amatuers. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to really unlock your body's full potential. When you step into a weight room and look around you can see who's serious about it and who's not. For example, people standing around talking and bullshitting on their phone, probably aren't that serious about the overall goal that their trying to reach.

#3) All bodybuilders are on steriods

Now this IS a tricky one to really make you believe is false. So i brought out 2 examples i know for sure. On the left is Greg Valentino a.k.a. The Man With The Exploding Arms. Greg got busted back in 2006 with dealing, and taking steriods(if you couldn't tell.) On the right is (my favorite bodybuilder) Kai Greene. Kai is a firm believer that if you want something bad enough, you have to go out an get it yourself. He's about being all natural, and EARNING every award that comes his way through dieting, nutrition, and proper training. Another way to notice if someone is on steriods is their attitude. Greg was a very angry man, before he got clean. Kai is always calm, and believes in the philosophy of bodybuilding, not the glamour, or fame.

#2)Bodybuilders are the same as Weight/Powerlifters
This false because they both are striving toward 2 different goals. The Power/Weightlifter is all about moving weight, or "getting" that extra weight. No matter how big the weight is they have one goal in mind and thats to "move that weight" A body builder is only worried about the contraction of the muscle they are working. For example, a power/weightlifter will try to deadlift 800lbs not worried about the full contraction of the muscle. the bodybuilder would only lift 400lbs and focus on technique and contraction. Another obvious difference is body types. Weightlifters usually have no care when it comes to dieting or nutrition. As bodybuilders, at least ones that want to be successfull, are always aware of their nutrition, and diet.

#1) Ever single supplement that's made, is a form of steriod

This is the one myth about bodybuilding that really pisses me off. From Whey protein to BCAAs(Branched-Chain Amino Acids) every time someone inexperianced sees me with a shaker cup filled with a supplements they think it's something steriod related. I can't stand it. I can't stand it just because instead of admitting that a person, in the gym, is naturally better than you. Noobs, or jealous bodybuilders just assume that instead of working hard to get there, they obviously took 'roids. So as a little twist for todays question, I'm gonna spit a rhyme first: You can't judge a book by it's cover, but only by its written literature. If you decipher the scripture your eyes be open to a bigger picture. People who assume instead of ask................What's That All About?
